Some Grammatical Structures of Programming Languages as Simple Bracketed Languages
نویسندگان
چکیده
We consider in this paper so called simple bracketed languages having special limitations. They are sometimes used for the definitions of some grammatical structures of programming languages. Generally speaking, these languages are context-free, but not deterministic contextfree, i.e., they cannot be defined by deterministic push-down automata. For the simple bracketed languages having special limitations, the equivalence problem is decidable. We obtain the sufficient conditions for the representation some language by special sequences of simple bracketed languages. We also consider the examples of grammatical structures as the simple bracketed languages. Therefore, we can decide equivalence problem for some grammatical structures of programming languages, and such structures define neither regular, nor deterministic context-free languages.

The Relationship between EFL Learners’ Explicit Knowledge of Source Language and Their Translation Ability
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between students‘ explicit knowledge in grammar and their translation ability. The importance of grammatical knowledge and its effectiveness in translation quality motivated the researcher to run this study and consider grammatical knowledge in Per- sian as the source language of Iranian students. It is clear that grammar is an area ...
متن کاملParadigmatic complexity in pidgins and creoles
The last decade has seen increasing attention paid to questions of grammatical complexity, in particular regarding the extent to which some languages can be said to be more “complex” than others, whether globally or with respect to particular subsystems. Creoles have featured prominently in these debates, with various authors arguing that they are particularly simple when set against noncreoles...
متن کاملGrammatical pattern learning by human infants and cotton-top tamarin monkeys.
There is a surprising degree of overlapping structure evident across the languages of the world. One factor leading to cross-linguistic similarities may be constraints on human learning abilities. Linguistic structures that are easier for infants to learn should predominate in human languages. If correct, then (a) human infants should more readily acquire structures that are consistent with the...
متن کاملThe Comparison of Native English and Persian Elementary School Students’ Performance on Lexical and Grammatical Collocations
The importance and howness of language learning/ acquisition has been a great concern for decades. There are many factors that play important roles in this regard. This research compared the performance of native Persian and English elementary students to see if there is any significant difference between the two groups and which type of collocation they performed better within the groups. For ...
متن کاملLinguistic Issues in Language Technology – LiLT
The GF Resource Grammar Library is a set of natural language grammars implemented in GF (Grammatical Framework). These grammars are in a strong sense parallel: they are built upon a common abstract syntax, i.e. a common tree structure. Individual languages are obtained via compositional mappings from abstract syntax trees to feature structures specific to each language. The grammar defines, for...
